Answered Form extras

    Hi,

I want to add a simple contact form to my site.
None of the form extras I have found are very intuitive, and seem extremely complicated.
I'm used to using Machform, which is an external database driven form software which uses drag and drop fields etc, making it extremely quick to build a form.
Ideally I'd prefer the form in within Modx, but am struggling to find anything that will make this a simple process?

Anyone have a good way to create and manage forms?

    Thanks
    Andy

      Take a look at SPForm.

If you're using MODX Evolution eForm is the usual form extra.
If you're using MODX Revolution, it's FormIt.

Neither of those last two is particularly intuitive, but both are fairly powerful and allow customization.

There is also FormZ, FormItBuilder, and FormBuilder.

TBH, I use SPForm for a simple contact form, but roll my own forms for anything else.

OK thanks - I used to roll my own, but find it's so time consuming, that more automated systems were more time efficient.

Will have a look at SPForm though - thanks or the tip.

One other reason for using 'machform' is the ability to apply logic to forms - ie, if a user clicks this, go to this question, show and hide fields depending on what is input into the previous field, paged forms etc - all very time consuming to hand code.
