(I think...)
My install:
MODX Revolution 2.4.0-pl (traditional)
mysql: 5.6.23
PHP Version 5.5.30
Browsers: Chrome and Firefox - latest.
I have implemented a caching regime for an image-heavy website by amending .htaccess as recommended elsewhere in these forums.
I have since had real problems with the manager: if I edit an element, and press save, The little pop-up tells me the save is successful. If I then go away and edit something else, then return to the earlier element to edit again, the manager loads a pre-edited version of that element. My edits are lost!
Except that they are not. If I reload the page using the browser refresh button I get the before-editing version. If I refresh the browser using the clear-the-cache option (Firefox Shift-Refresh), the edited version is fetched and my edits can now be seen.
It seems to me that the Manager is being cached and the browser is showing a cached copy of the thing I've been editing, rather than reloading from the database..
If, as I suspect, the Manager pages are being cached and served back to me, how might I stop it?

I don't use apache but I would assume you need to put some restrictions in the .htaccess rules related to the manager directory as well as the connectors directory to not use the aggressive caching methods. The connectors directory should never be cached and any CMP/Extra also has a connector something like: assets\components\redirector\connector.php these must never be cached as well. The manager uses Ajax to call the connectors to populate the data. It could also be that your caching rules are not respecting the PHP headers and may need to be adjusted. If you put the images in /assets/content/ directory then just put the caching rules on that directory and all sub directories.
You could also look at a CDN service.
