    Hello there!

Just few minutes ago I installed the all new MODx 2.4.2 on my webspace. In order to get SEO friendly URLs I tried to change the settings in sytsem / settings. I'm able to change every setting I like but not the «friendly_url» value. When I change it to YES, there's a tiny red corner (see screenshot). When I change another setting the red corner is also there but visible for half of a second only. I guess this indicates saving procedure.

Is there anything I can do to get it working?

    Thank you in advance.

    Ralph

    • There has been a whole rash of saving problems lately, a new mod_security ruleset is making the rounds of the hosting community. Almost always, saving issues involves a mod_security ruleset. Check with your hosting provider's support desk to see if you've been running afoul of an over-zealous mod_security rule. They have logs they can check for that.

        Thank you Susan

I just created a ticket for my hosting provider.

        Greetings

          Hello there

I got answer from my hosting provider. The problem was ModSecurity for Apache2. ModSecurity tried to prevent Code Injections. (Note: I wasn't able to save a PHP snippet or plugin in MODx manager).
After the hosting provider commented out some security rules, I was able to save snippets and plugins. I also was able to switch the friendly_url from no to yes.
