I am new to MODX although familiar with Wordpress and Joomla. I am helping to maintain a non-profit site pro bono. The site is running Evolution 1.0.15. I cannot update the site due to a MODX Parse Error: Execution of a query to the database failed - Unknown column 'alias_visible' in 'field list'. When I look at System Events, I see that a record, "Installer still present" so I am wondering if this might cause the problem. If so, can I safely just delete the Install file (Manage Files/install)? Or should I just delete it anyway?

I know this is a little late, but i've only just seen the post, the install folder should not be on the server - it should always be deleted after the install has taken place.
There is an option that needs to be selected / de-selected when installing / updating. Simply select it when you update and the install folder will be deleted automatically
