Create a portfolio

Hi everybody,
I would need some advices and help with modx as i’m kinda newby. I really like it but i’m pretty new with it so i’m not sure about certain stuff.
Here’s my "problem":
I want to create my portfolio with for every projet a picture and some text here and there. I found that Ditto should help me with that but i’m not sure about how using it.
So if someone’s got an example or can explain to me the basics of what i want to do i would appreciate.
I want something like that :
Portfolio
- photos
- project 1
-image
-description
- link
- project 2
-image
-description
- link

- illustrations
- project 1
-image
-description
- link
- project 2
-image
-description
- link

Is your portfolio one page with "stacked" presentations? Or is it several pages with a project on each page?
And regarding Ditto, is your problem getting started or is it with getting the output the way you want?

Actually i want every page with all my projects stacked in x pages of x project.
The thing with Ditto is that i’m not sure about how using it. How i create like a template with all my fields (picture, title, description, link, ...) and how i put them in the right "folder’.
Do i have to create a folder "photo" a folder "illustration" and then put all my project on each folder ?

1. Create a new document for each project, use TVs for the description, screenshot and URL.
2. Check http://ditto.modxcms.com/tutorials/creating-a-custom-template.html to learn how to present your info on the page.
3. Use a ditto call with &parent to your projects folder.
