Hi, I am sure I am missing something, but can someone point me in the direction of:
A guide on how to add users and give them permissions to MODX cloud sites (I have looked at the MODX documentation and Bobs guide) but I am presuming these must be for complex unusual situations as so convoluted.
A guide from MODX for "Joe User" on how to edit and add content in MODX sites. All the documentation I can find from MODX seems to be geared towards the techie developer not user.
Thanks,

MODX permissions are in fact complex and convoluted. Believe me, Bob's Guides documentation is not for unusual situations.
First you need to create a User Group. This User Group is assigned a Policy that has the permissions you wish these user to have. Then you assign the user to that User Group. Everything is in the User Group settings.
The easiest way to create a customized Policy is to duplicate the Administrator Policy, then go through it and un-check permissions you don't want your users to have.
When you create the User Group, edit it and make sure that every context has the proper Policy. That will almost always include your custom Policy for the "mgr" context, and load-list-view for the "web" context.
Ignore Roles, they are indeed for unusual situations. Just give everybody and everything a Role of 0, or Super User.
Many thanks Susan. I have often wondered since starting to develop on MODX why it not as popular as the likes of Wordpress etc. I have found it great as a developer, but now that I want to develop for "normal people"! I am beginning to see how other CMS are far easier for users.
