    Hello

I've just moved my site from one server to another following the instructions in the rtfm. It was showing as a blank site, front- and backend so I uploaded the setup folder from the same version of ModX that the site was built on and did the setup. The site then sprang into life apart from one odd thing...

When clicking on any of the resources in the tree the content/editing part doesn't show at all. Not even the resource title. The rest of the manager works fine, I can edit existing elements, I can create new resources and elements etc. So I upgraded from 2.3.4 to 2.4 to see if that would iron anything out but it still has the same problem.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

    Current server settings:
    Linux
    PHP 5.4.41
    Apache 2.4.12
    MySQL 10.0.21-MariaDB-log

    Old server settings
    Linux
    PHP 5.4.44
    Apache 2.4.16
    MySQL 5.5.42-cll

Let me know if you need any more information and any advise is greatly appreciated.

That sounds like a browser cache issue. Try visiting the site in private or incognito mode.

If that doesn't work, delete all the files in the core/cache directory.

Also, did you transfer the files individually with FTP? That often results in a missing or corrupted file or two.

        Hi Bob

Incognito and deleted cache didn't solve it.
I'd uploaded a zip and moved/merged the files on the server.

The only thing I can think of is that some old files were not overwritten by the new ones when you merged them, though normally that would cause more serious problems.

Another possibility is a JS conflict with some plugin you're running.

Do you think starting from scratch may be the best solution (I have a copy of the site on the old server still) or is it likely the same thing will happen next time?

It's difficult to say. I would try copying the files again, making sure that any newer ones are overwriting the old ones. Then re-run Setup and delete all files in the core/cache directory before logging in.

Also try setting compress_css and compress_js to 0 via phpmyadmin to see if that helps

                  Thanks guys.
I re-compressed the files of the original site, re-uploaded them, unpacked them, changed the config file paths, emptied the cache folder and re-ran the setup and it all seems to be working now. Phew!
