    Do any of the Google Maps/Maps template variables work in a MIGX configuration/formtab?

        Sure. I'm adding events into a MIGX-powered TV and want to have one of the fields as template variables. There are a couple of Google Maps plugins for MODX, but none of them seem to work on a MIGX form tab. Probably because they're meant to be used as a standard TV.

            I thought it would be help if we all had some code to look at as we are working through this challenge. So here is example: I want to use a series of data points for a travel website we are building where there would be a collection of possible itineraries. Each itinerary has multiple map points. The going being so that user can create there itinerary and the corresponding map is created. To this I pay to use MIGX inside of MIGX with Points of Interest being market via the Google Maps TV.

            Parent MIGX:
            [
            {"caption":"Info", "fields": [
            {"field":"iname","caption":"Title of Itinerary"},
            {"field":"ilength","caption":"Length of Trip in Days","inputTVtype":"listbox","inputOptionValues":"1 Day||2 Day||3 Day||4 Day||5 Day||6 Day||7 Day||8 Day||9 Day||10 Day||11 Day||12 Day||13 Day||14 Day"}

            ]},
            {"caption":"Points of Intrest", "fields":[
            {"field":"poi","caption":"Itinerary Stops","inputTV":"point-intrest"}
            ]}
            ]

            The Point of Interest MIGX ( Where I would call the Google Maps tv )

            [
            {"caption":"Info", "fields": [
            {"field":"title","caption":"Title"},
            {"field":"description","caption":"Description","inputTVtype":"textarea"},
            {"field":"distance","caption":"Distance","description":"Distance in Nautical Miles"}
            ]},
            {"caption":"Image", "fields":[
            {"field":"image","caption":"Image","inputTV":"destination-thumb","description":"This Image should be a jpg that is 800px by 600px"}
            ]},
            {"caption":"Map Location", "fields":[
            {"field":"map-ll","caption":"Map Pin Location","inputTV":"map-convert"}
            ]}
            ]

            My guess is that it is a rendering issue. As the Google Maps TV needs to be rendered to display as a TV. (strictly a guess)

              I didn't - but I had a little re-think about how I was setting this up and realised I could have achieved the result I wanted with a combination of:

                Phil,

                I am glad that worked out for you. Unfortunately for me that option will now help me. Hopefully Bruno 17 the create of MIGX will get back to me with a solution.

                Thanks
                Ryan

                  You can loop a MIGX in a MIGX with getImageList. You just have to put the placeholder of the embedded MIGX in the getImageList value.
                  [[!getImageList? &tpl=`chunkLiTpl` &value=`[[+map-ll]]`]]

                  I haven't worked with MapsTV, but you can easily google for Google Maps API to put your markers on the map.

                    What Ultimately I need is the ability to convert address to lat and long in MIGX. Merging Google Maps TV would be ideal as it already does convert for lat and long.

                      The converting can be done with http://maps.google.com/maps/api/geocode/json?address= which returns JSON with the coordinates and other info, but I'm not sure on how you can store these return values in MIGX
