So, I’ve decided to switch my website back to sending all code as HTML 4.01.

In order to be still able to use TinyMCE and most of the existing snippets and so on as is, I’ll leave my pages in XHTML 1.0 format and add a plug-in to convert all trailing ’/>’ code to simple ’>’ for HTML pages (plus any other conversions that seem to be necessary). This has the added advantage that I can still present XHTML for RSS feeds... I also tend to default to coding in XHTML style.

Please note that I don’t want to start another round of the XHTML vs HTML debate: I’ve read all the arguments and this was my conclusion. Debates can be held elsewhere!

What I do need to know is, has anyone experienced any issues with the javascript packages supplied with MODx when working with HTML? I’d guess any problem would be DOM-related (from the afore-mentioned ’/>’ issue), but any such issues would be worth knowing.

This would apply to both 0.9 (Evolution) and 2.x (Revolution) versions of MODx: I’m staying with the former for now due to hosting issues, but am hoping to update soon.

    Thanks!

    Jon
