    Hello,
    I have installed MIGX and Setup which was very user friendly and flowed with logical buttons to select.

    Now I'm learning how to configure MIGX to set up a slide show.
    I am reading the steps https://rtfm.modx.com/extras/revo/migx, and step 1 says Open the "System" menu, however I cannot find any "System" menu?

    I do find in MODX > Dashboard > Settings > System Settings, but that doesn't look right.

      Hmm, okay, so searching now how to make a slide show like SlideshowManager, but using MIGX.

        first thing would be to choose a javascript-slideshow.
        Do you have allready one?

        which one does your slideshow-manager use?

          Well, I thought I would try Bootstrap.
          I have installed Bootstrap and BootForMODX (not sure on differences) to MODX, however need to figure out how to put Bootstrap into MIGX?

          The Bootstrap instructions http://modx.com/extras/package/theme.bootstrap say define template Bootstrap.main for main page and bootstrap.inner for other pages. Not all coinciding at the moment?

          This is my process I'm working on now:
          Make a MODX New Template.
          Put javascript (somewhere in the Bootstrap package in MODX which I find hard to search and navigate to specific paths/files (I know the path to Bootstrap/javascript directly)) for slideshow in New Template.
          Convert template dynamic parts (yet to find out) to MIGX. [ed. note: eiger3970 last edited this post 11 years, 1 month ago.]

            do you have a working bootstrap-slider with hardcoded slides allready in your template now?

            Then just post your template-code here and I will show you, how to get it done with MIGX.

              Not yet.
              I need to start from the start.
              Install bootstrap to a test website using files I'm used to E.g., Shell > /home/domain.com/public_html/index.html.

              From there, I can add the working Bootstrap slideshow to MODX.
              I'm trying to find the file path for MODX > Dashboard > Resources > Home.
              I checked Shell > /home/domain/public_html/core/components, but I don't know how to find the path to the files that MODX sets up?

              Any suggestions on where the path is please?

                There is no path. Your resources are in the database, in the site_content table. Likewise the dashboards are in the database.

                I use the standard Bootstrap slider here http://irco.sottwell.modxcloud.com/ , and this is the template that the home page resource is assigned to, or at least the parts relevant to the slideshow:
                <!DOCTYPE html>
                ...
                <link href="assets/theme/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
                ...
                </head>
                <body class="home">
                ...
                <!-- Header Carousel -->
                <header id="myCarousel" class="carousel slide">
                  <!-- Wrapper for slides -->
                  <div class="carousel-inner">
                    [[getImageList? &tvname=`Carousel` &tpl=`carouselTpl`]]
                  </div>
                  <!-- Controls -->
                  <a class="left carousel-control" href="#myCarousel" data-slide="prev">
                    <span class="icon-prev"></span>
                  </a>
                  <a class="right carousel-control" href="#myCarousel" data-slide="next">
                    <span class="icon-next"></span>
                  </a>
                </header>
                ...
                <script src="assets/js/jquery-2.1.4.min.js"></script>
                <script src="assets/theme/js/bootstrap.min.js"></script>
                ...
                <script>
                $(document).ready(function(){
                  $('.carousel').carousel({
                    interval: 5000
                  });
                });
                </script>
                </body>
                </html>

                  I have a very basic MIGX TV attached to the home template, and that's what is accessed by the getImageList snippet. Its tpl chunk for each image looks like this:
                  <div class="item[[+class]]">
                    <div class="fill" style="background-image:url('[[+image]]');"></div>
                    <div class="carousel-caption">
                      <h2>[[+title]]</h2>
                    </div>
                  </div>

                  If you look at the basic Bootstrap slideshow, you'll see that each image has this structure, with the placeholders replaced with the actual data for the images. http://www.w3schools.com/bootstrap/bootstrap_carousel.asp

                    Thanks, will try.
                    I should mention the slideshow to http://irco.sottwell.modxcloud.com/, shows a 404 Page Not Found error.

                      Hmm, so added an image at size 143x100.png and the slide show went crazy.

                      I guess the problem is now a Bootstrap issue, to make the carousel sit at 100px high.
                      I created a class, but not sure where the class/css file path is on MODX? [ed. note: eiger3970 last edited this post 11 years, 1 month ago.]
