I had a client recently lose their hosting (a long and strange story) so we moved to another host and made a very quick landing page as we develop the full site again (the good thing was they were ready for a responsive site and wanted a one pager anyway).

We setup the temporary page in MODX and have been developing the real site as well, same server, same URL.

However, due to the nature of one site links (i.e. About Us) when we click the link MODX always sends it to the site_start specific landing page. If we make the staging page the site_start, then it works, but we don't want the staging to be visible to the general public. I know we could go with a subdomain and move it later but is there anyway to avoid doing that?

      Set

      Or
      About Us

      Use [[~[[*id]]? &scheme=`full`]] #about if you like

Harden your MODX site by passwording your three main folders: core, manager, connectors and renaming your assets (thank me later!)

Use the "site unavailable" setting and the "site unavailable" page to display as much as you want to the public. Everything else will only be visible to logged-in Manager users.
