    Hi Folks

Just when I thought I was on my way…

I have fifteen or so various chunks.
    I'm right-clicking Categories > New Category.
    Creating a new one.
    Clicking on a chunk.
In the Category dropdown over to the right in the editor,
I'm selecting the category I've just created.
A folder with that name appears in the chunks section
containing the chunk I've just assigned to it.

As far as I understand that is how it should be so far…

And when the same category folder that appears (on refresh)
in the Categories section at the bottom is clicked this should
give me the bundled shortcut to all those elements within that category.
    Correct?
However this folder remains empty and therefore useless.
    I've tried allsorts.

    I'm using:
    MODX 2.3.3
    MAMP (latest (3.0.7.3))
    PHP (5.5.18)
    MySQL (5.5.38)
Chrome: Std and Canary (latest versions)
    Mac OX (Lion-10.7.5).

Any feedback would be roundly appreciated...

    Regards
    Chris

As far as I am aware the lower category section is just so you can add, edit and remove the categories and has never listed the bundled elements within the category but I could be wrong

        Hi Paul

Hey thanks for such a quick response.
Ok, I think I get this now.
I've also just found something in Bob's book
which seems to confirm what you say...
They're virtual folders that remain uneditable per se…
Although a category can be edited, that doesn't affect its contents
i.e. if deleted, the contents simply become uncategorized.
(that explanation was more for my benefit just so it sinks in!!)

        Thanks again
        Cheers
        Chris

Once upon a time, the elements were also shown in the category folders, but that was slowing down the tree rendering (which is slow enough already).
