    I'm almost embarrassed to ask this question, but what is the Freeze Url check box in the setting tab? What does it do? When would you use?

    I've searched the forums and rtfm and find little if any mention of it.

    Thanks

      There is an Extra, Custom Urls, that revels in Freeze Url.
      Articles Extra also dwells on it to give you that blog-child url

      By default urls start from the root of your site, or they follow their parents, according to your Settings in the System.

      Freeze Url can override all that, using any pattern you like, or alias.

      Blog/
         ------->/blog/helpus.html //can be frozen to mainHelp/helpThyselfFirst.html
         ------->/blog/contactus.html  //can be frozen to /demo/AprilFool/weDontNeedHelpJustKidding.html

        How is this different than just editing the Url Alias?

          As the name suggests, the Alias will just be appended to what of the two URL options you have selected in System Settings.
          And I am not sure Alias will accept special xters, dots and slashes.

          So helpus.html may not be aliased to /AprilFool/weDontNeedHelpJustKidding.html
