Is it possible to restore a defect backup into a new installation?

Hi,

I encounter an "/core/model/modx/modx.class.php on line 526" error. I made a backup (after clearing the cache, I had Revo 2.2 installed) and searched the web to find a solution.
I tried some suggestions but nothing help and in the end, I had to install from scratch.

So, now I have a folder with all the files copied form the web sever and a dump of the database and a new installation of Revo 2.3.

Is there a way to kind of restore my old content of the website of Revo 2.2 into the new installed version, like copying necessary files or so?

Extract the DB, install new version, import DB.

When you do the new install, DO NOT have it remove the "setup" directory. It will complain about it, but after you import your database dump you'll want to run the setup again in upgrade mode, just in case.

Then manually delete the core/cache directory, make sure your browser cache and cookies are cleared for the site, and it should go OK. You may need to re-install some of your extras.
