I was just reviewing a MODx 2.3.0 site of mine determining what updates or improvements I could make, and I noticed a bunch of .listing files. There are multiple instances pepper about in various directories. I found them in:

    The root
    assets/components
    assets/components/tinymce
    assets/images
    assets/stylesheets
    assets/javascripts
    And still looking for more...

Each looks like a log of activity.

    drwxr-xr-x 2 3394 inetuser 4096 Jul 4 2013 stylesheets

Should I be concerned? This site was experiencing serious issues when it was MODx 2.1.x. I migrated it to a cPanel environment, and updated to 2.3.0. The site seems to be functioning fine, but the presence of all of the .listing files is a bit alarming.

Seems that .listing files are created by wget which holds informations about your directory tree.

Thanks for the response. Odd in that I have never noticed them in any of my other MODx sites.

My host removed many of them, but now I have found more. I started to delete some of them, and now my manager went blank.

Busy day ahead I think sad
