Does anyone know if this can be done? So, when the user comes to submit a comment on a blog post in Articles, they can type in emoji or rich text instead of just plain?

    Thanks

Hi, I reckon this will be a client-side functionality.

Try https://github.com/diy/jquery-emojiarea, if you have problems implementing, let us know.

Get the name of your textarea, from your Quip AddComment or AddReply TPL, initiate this emoji code as described on the website, and I think voila is the next thing.

I think the trick is to turn your textarea into a contentEditable div, to accept already-processed html.

Harden your MODX site by passwording your three main folders: core, manager, connectors and renaming your assets (thank me later!)

Thanks, Don. Out of interest, does anyone know if the quipaddcomment.chunk.tpl can be modified to include extra fields? Like custom fields- for example, a star rating. Input field on quipaddcomment.chunk.tpl to allow no. of stars, output on the comments showing name, postdate, comment (all as standard [[+comments]]) plus extra field for number of stars.
        Thanks
