    Please I need your help urgently;
    I want to create three CMPs and I want to use migx but to be honest, I don't know to put all together for it to work. I've spent four days on it and still nothing.

    I want to have a dropdown menu at the very topnav...
    eg;
    Focus
    Regions
    Districts
    Data

    Regions will have create region where when clicked will bring a form to type the region name and save to database.

    Districts too will be the same just that all the regions entered will be in a select box where you select a region and enter the district name in the textbox and save to a database.

    Data section, needs to have two selectboxes where by when u select region it loads districts in the other selectbox.

    I can do this in raw php script with jquery, but don't know how to go about it in modx.... just recently that I tried my hands on modx and I love it. Now am face with this and don't know what to do. please help me on this.
    thanks

      If you're comfortable with PHP you could bypass ExtJS/MIGX and just put the php directly in a Controller.

      Follow these instructions: http://rtfm.modx.com/revolution/2.x/developing-in-modx/advanced-development/custom-manager-pages/custom-manager-pages-in-2.3

      In the Controller file, you could do something like this:

      <?php
      class MycmpWelcomeManagerController extends modExtraManagerController {
          public function process(array $scriptProperties = array()) {
              // this is where you can do your own PHP
              // $_GET params are available in $scriptProperties. $_POST variables may also be in there, but not 100% sure,
              // do not use echo here, just return a string at the end
              return '<p>Hello world!</p>';
          }
          public function getPageTitle() {
              return 'My Test CMP';
          }
          public function getTemplateFile() {
              return 'welcome.tpl';
          }
      }

        when you are saying, you have nothing after 4 days, what did you try?
        where did you start?
        what doesn't work?

        there are several Tutorials on rtfm, where you can start with.

        do you have a xpdo-schema allready?

          there are also some discussions about nested MIGXdb - grids.
          For example this one:

              @Bruno, thanks for the response, I have been able to used the migx but still have problems on how to get a selectbox in the FormTabs section.

              As I stated in my early post, I want the first selectbox to list categories from the database and on select a category it should populate the items in a different selectbox base on the first selectbox.

              I have attached a sample of what am trying to do.

              thanks
