I am starting up an website. At this site i want to use Gregarius (http://gregarius.net) to fetch some rss feeds and display them on my site.

Is it possible to let MODx search in the gregarius database and display items from it? Since i am not an programmer i don’t know how to code it, but i am expecting that there is already an ’build-in’ solution in MODx.

after a couple of hours stumbling on the forums i think i have to use the @SELECT functions to read from the gregarious database. Am i correct?

No, the @SELECT Template Variable binding explicitly queries the MODx database. With a snippet, you can directly query any database you can get access to, as with any other PHP code. If you really want to use a TV for some reason, you can use regular PHP code with the @EVAL binding. I wouldn’t recommend it though. I’d be inclined to make an AJAX app out if it myself.

Thank you. In other words: I have to convert gregarius to an snippet. Am i correct on this?

Is modx capable of searching within the gragarius database when it’s included in an snippet. I fear not.... (??)

DO a search and read on the FEEDx snippet, it is very good in
reading and formatting RSS feeds of all kinds... maybe it will
            work with your app....

I already tried FeedX. There’s nothing wrong with that snippet but it can’t "remember" posts. I want to integrate a full (imported) news site.

The latest AjaxSearch allows you to search custom fields, maybe this will work:
