Offset Articles results by one

I have an install of articles and things are working well. On my main articles page, I want it to skip the first article in the list. I have tried entering &offset=`1` in the Other listing parameters section of Advanced Settings > general but that has not worked.

I am not using a get resources call but have the [[+articles]] tag in my content settings. I can use other parameters like &limit=`1` and it works fine.

What am I missing here? Is there some other way to go about offsetting the articles list?

I seem to recall that there can sometimes be conflict between &limit and &offset. If &limit=`0` the &offset param won't work. Don't know if this applies to your situation but have read of others having this trouble.

I really thought that would work. I found that property in the Articles code.
