I've used MODX for years, and it has helped me so much with rebrands, integrations and de-integration projects. I had a stupid external marketing company try to outsource it away from me and I convinced senior management it was a waste and saved MODX. I love MODX.

Then I changed job. And I'm dealing with Wordpress. I've always said Wordpress is fine as a blog, not as a CMS... so sure enough it's been botched and hacked to make it do CMS stuff and it's a slow dog. And I can't do even the most basic of tasks. And everything is so MANUAL.

    Argh.

This topic has no purpose other than I wanted to come to MODX and try to cleanse myself just a little of Wordpress.

(I'm not responsible for the new sites, so can't rip it out... but I do have to use it.... it's hell)

I feel your pain. I did a WP blog for someone once and even that was like bathing in sewage. I've read that WP is much better now than it was then (and I chose a very bad theme for my project). Still, if I left MODX, it definitely wouldn't be for WordPress.
