Answered 404 Page Issue

I built my site on a development server, and created an article to assign the error_page to. Then I synced my site to a production server, and everything works great except for the 404 page. The current behavior on the production server is that any page that should be 404 is redirecting to the homepage. On my development server the 404 behavior is correct.

I checked my database table on the production server, and my error page resource exists in the site_content table, and error_page is pointing to the correct resource id number in the table.

Is there someplace else I have to update what the 404 page should be, like a config file? I can't find where else I have to update this. I have cleared cache folders, and tried several pushes to the production server.

    Thank you very much.

At this point, I would just delete that 404 resource, create a new one, and change the System Setting. While it's a curious situation and it would be nice to figure out what the problem is, it's not worth the time and trouble.

If, on the other hand, that doesn't solve the problem, then something else is at play. Permissions? Something in the core got broken during the transfer? I'd try the above first, before getting all involved in anything complicated.

Thank you @sottwell, I replaced the error_page resource, pushed to production boxes, cleared the cache folders on the boxes, and that did the trick. I don't know what the issue was, but it works now. Thank you.
