Easiest WORKING way to make a single password protected page

I dont want to create groups, etc...

Basically, trying to give a single document hidden from the web so I can give a few publishers a preview into the single article on my site (will do this each month too).

I tried DocPassword, but it does not work, as it lets me see the content without a requiring a password (yes I set a password in the TV on the article).

I also tried PageLocker http://modx.com/extras/package/pagelocker but when I use the package installers in my admin it says its not a valid transport file

Other guides on here seem to apply to older versions of modx.

It seems I would need to make a new user account for the client, but looking at the docs I dont see how to create a "web" user, assuming thats what I need.

I'm not familiar with DocPassword, but just wondering — when you say the content was still available without requiring a password... we're you still logged in to the manager?

I was not logged in.

I noticed in the instructions it says to call the snippet using [!DocPassword!] which looks like the old Modx, so that's not boosting my confidence that this plugin will work

I think DocPassword is an Evo extra. Depending on the code, though, it may work in Revolution.

There is also another extra called DocPasswords that might work: https://github.com/dharnan/modx-docpasswords, though it's not in the repository.
