    Hi all,

I have a MODX evo website and was happy with it seen my low It skills and a lot I could do on my own.
Now the hosting server has updated to php 5.5 and our website is ofline or shows Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error). My control panel mentions cannot open.
I contacted the server or hosting and they say its the website, but also say it probably happened when they upgraded to php5.5
What can be done? I have tried to contact the one who delivered the site but no response.

Can anyone help me with this? [email protected] for response and www.becovillage.com is the site.

Do you know version number of your Evolution installation?

A very common problem with older Evo sites is that somewhere along that version number of PHP it changed to using mysqli_ functions, while MODX was written to use the obsolete mysql_ functions. This will prevent MODX from accessing the database; hence the 500 error. No database = no MODX. The solution is to upgrade MODX. It's pretty easy to do with this install.php script https://github.com/evolution-cms/installer

          Best regards,
