Custom publishedBy Field

I have been using a template variable with an @eval statement in input options to allow the user to select a publishedBy value for a resource manually. However, it does not currently show the existing value when the resource is accessed again and must be re-selected after any save. Can someone help me re-write the Default Value/Input Options Values to also call on the current setting so this is no longer a problem?

Input Options Values:
```
@EVAL return $modx->runSnippet('Peoples',array('tpl'=>'peoplesTpl','outputSeparator'=>'||','active'=>'1'));
```
Default Value:
```
[[*publishedby]]
```
peoplesTpl:
```
[[+fullname]]==[[+id]]
```
