    Hi everyone,
    I´m migrating a Revo 2.2.10 pl site from an IIS7 server to a Linux server, the person who made the site backup only provided me the database.sql and the site files, I followed these steps in the new server:

    • created new database in my server and import old database
    • upload via FTP all the files to my new server web root (httpdocs)
    • change path in config files at /config.core.php, /core/config/config.inc.php, /manager/config.core.php and /connectors/config.core.php (used this relative path: ('MODX_CORE_PATH', $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'/core/')
    • chmod 777 on /core/packages, and /core/config.inc.php
    • cleared chache manually on /core/cache via FTP
    • change domain name in .htaccess and uncomment some Rewrite rules
    • Test site

    After these steps, the only thing I obtain is a blank page in both manager and front-end area of the site, in the console i detect a 500 internal server error, and in my error.log file i have these lines:

    [2015-05-14 16:07:46] (ERROR in xPDOConnection::connect @ /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com.mx/httpdocs/core/xpdo/xpdo.class.php : 3051) SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user 'admin_casa'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

    Please help me, This issue is a nightmare, I need to get the site working soon.

    Server Details:

    • PHP: 5.4
    • Mysql : 5.5.40
    • I have no permissions to change php.ini

    Thanks in advance! [ed. note: zaevega last edited this post 11 years, 5 months ago.]

      Hi everyone,
      [2015-05-14 16:07:46] (ERROR in xPDOConnection::connect @ /var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com.mx/httpdocs/core/xpdo/xpdo.class.php : 3051) SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user 'admin_casa'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

      From that error, I'd strongly suspect that your new database's user credentials don't match those of those from the old install. Check out the database entries near the top of core/config/config.inc.php, and make sure they match-up to your new database.

      I would again check and empty core/cache, then try to access the front-end.

      If it comes up, it's a very good idea to (per the docs: http://rtfm.modx.com/revolution/2.x/administering-your-site/moving-your-site-to-a-new-server) re-run setup on the transferred site. You can obtain setup for your version here: http://modx.com/download/previous-releases/

      If problems persist, you may want to take a look at Bob Ray's Sitecheck extra - many people here swear by it: http://bobsguides.com/sitecheck-tutorial.html

        Additionally, when you do get the site running, you should update the version ASAP. There have been several significant security updates since the version you're running.
