I got this parse error after updating my site after it is hacked.

    Site: http://falconfuelsinc.com/

    « MODx Parse Error »
MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
    « PHP Parse Error »

    PHP error debug
Error: mysql_connect(): The mysql extension is deprecated and will be removed in the future: use mysqli or PDO instead
    Error type/ Nr.: - 8192
    File: /usr/home/falc38/www/htdocs/manager/includes/extenders/dbapi.mysql.class.inc.php
    Line: 89
    Line 89 source: if (!$this->conn = ($persist ? mysql_pconnect($host, $uid, $pwd) : mysql_connect($host, $uid, $pwd, true))) {

    Parser timing
    MySQL: 0.0000 s (0 Requests)
    PHP: 0.0175 s
    Total: 0.0175 s

    ----------------------------------------------------------

In the past, I have resolved Parse Error by going to older version of PHP. However, it didn't work this time. If anyone has any solutions to this problem, please share your solution.

    Thanks!

Can you tell us more about your hosting environment, and what version of Evolution you are running?

I don't believe that MODX Evolution currently supports PHP 5.5, can you downgrade to PHP 5.4?

Take a look here and here

I think a lot of people are waiting out on this, as so far as I am aware, Evo is being made PHP 5.5+ friendly - whether or not this is still actual is another matter.

If not, I think a lot of people are going to be dismayed once their sites no-longer work. I will be one of them.

You could turn off E_DEPRECATED error reporting, though when mysql_connect() is removed, you'll be dead in the water. I'm not sure how soon that will happen.
