Hello there, I am currently in the process of taking over my companies website and hosting it on one of our servers, I have managed to get the site working and the majority of functions work without issue. However I cannot get friendly URL's to work. Currently all of my URL's appear as "http://172.17.17.26/index.php?id=72" whereas I need them to display as "http://172.17.17.26/page".

I have gone through a great deal of forum posts and the modx wiki trying to fix my issues to no avail. I have tried commenting/uncommenting and adding things to the .htaccess file, modifying httpd.conf file, changing file permissions, changing settings in the manager etc..

I have written dummy text into the top of the .htaccess file and I recieve the internal server error meaning that the .htaccess file is being read and I have checked that the mod_rewrite module is installed in apache.

My server is running CentOs 7 with the LAMP stack and nothing else.

Please let me know what else I can do to fix this issue and what other information I need to provide to assist with that.

    Many thanks.

Just to confirm you did enable FURLS in the Manager, in addition to the .htaccess file?

Thanks for your reply AMDbuilder, I have enabled FURLS in the manager section, I have also played around with all the different options in that section.

Sometimes you need to do a clear cache before you can see updated URLs on the frontend. If you have done the following then you should be ok:

              1) Enable friendly URLs,
              2) Make sure page URI is being set on page save
              3) Ensure your .htaccess is set up right
              4) Clear cache

              Should do it.
