You would need some sort of XML-RPC file/library to have MODx receive and interact with an external editor (I think). I think typically Wordpress and MovableType and Blogger have a connection file that directs and interacts with the remote file on your site. You’d then need to somehow create documents. I don’t know anyone has done this or not. There have been successes at editing via remote editor but what, I don’t know.

Thanks so far!
Yes, as stated in the flock documentation you need an API compatible with movable type, Metaweblog, or ATOM. And it is said something about xmlrpc - don’t know how this works.
Maybe someone knows if this is developed for modx?

There was an attempt here:
http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?topic=5827.0 I am going to look at it today as I think that it will be a great addition for the continuing use of the 0.9.6x codebase since XML-RPC is included in the 0.9.7 core.

No because XML-RPC is how most blogs interact with each other and external user agents such as Flock or Scribefire. I will be starting a new MODx project in the next few weeks and I will be able to work on it then. Currently working on some non blog project so it won’t work.
I am going to put together all the stuff for blogs like the Ping, Trackback, and XML-RPC into a blog extension package. Hopefully with an installer so that people can just add it to their site and configure it to work with their site.
There is an XML-RPC api extension/element for 0.9.7 to allow interaction and external editing but its a way off.
I want to use current MT or MetaWeblog API structure to enable MODx users to do as they would with WordPress, Joomla, MT or any other blog platform.
In the meantime, I will be corralling the various scripts to start sewing them together into a set of classes, snippet, plugin and module.
