    Revo 2.3.3
    FormIt 2.2.2

I went to what I thought was the official reCAPTCHA site to get a key http://www.captcha.net but I was redirected to Google https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/index.html which apparently also has their own reCAPTCHA. Or maybe it's a new version of the old style reCAPTCHA. I really don't know, it's a bit confusing.

The Google version looks cleaner so I thought I would try it instead of the older larger version but it doesn't seem to work with FormIt, though I'm not sure if it's me or a compatibility issue. I tried using the older style reCAPTCHA and everything worked fine.

Does anyone know about this new style Google reCAPTCHA? Will it work with FormIt? [ed. note: todd.b last edited this post 11 years, 6 months ago.]

I think Google took over reCAPTCHA. I found both rather difficult to read, so opted to leave it out. Perhaps the graphics have improved?

At any rate, I was able to get mine to function with formit and prevent the email from being sent. If I remember correctly it had something to do with the order/position it was placed in the hook.

      &hooks=`recaptcha,spam,email,redirect`
      &recaptchaTheme=`white`

@mmcgee Good catch. My hook order was different, but even after changing it the new (Google) version still doesn't work correctly with FormIt. I had to revert to the old-style (original) version.

Too bad, the new one is smaller and better-looking.

Not sure whether it's necessary after making an update like that or not, but did you try clearing your cache after making the change?

I had it functioning on a 2.2.14 site. However, there may have been a couple of FormIt updates, and certainly the new MODx updates since then. Aside from the image being tough to read (potentially frustrating to users), my biggest obstacle was getting the formit to be responsive and work withiin a Foundation layout. I had found a couple of tips at Stack Overflow that sort of helped, but still wasn't perfect.

I did a search out on google (sometimes more efficient than searching within the forum) and found: https://github.com/bvandorp/noCaptcha

Perhaps this has some helpful information.
