After upgrading to NP 2.1.0 (from 2.0.2) the resources with the NP (edit) form render completely blank (white).

You did help me make some custom modifications to v2.0.2 that are now built into 2.1, is it possible those mods could affect the update process?

I don't think so, but I don't remember what the changes were.

You might try uninstalling, removing, re-downloading, and re-installing NewsPublisher. Then delete all files in the core/cache directory before testing.

I think I found the cause ...

I use CKEditor for the back-end and have not installed TinyMCE via the Package Manager. Instead I manually installed (independent of MODX) the standalone version of Tiny along with Responsive Filemanager for use with NP on the front. In NP v2.0.2 this setup works beautifully, but it clearly breaks in v2.1.

To test it I removed,

from the NP call the NP page/form once again renders fine, but obviously without Rich Text Editing.

I don't know if this is a bug with NP 2.1 or an error on my end, but for the time being it seems I can’t use the new NP. [ed. note: todd.b last edited this post 11 years, 6 months ago.]

Yes, not using the MODX version of TinyMCE would definitely cause trouble.

Why does it work so well in NP 2.0.2 but not 2.1? Has something fundamentally changed in 2.1?

Also, I assume the new MODX version (TinyMCE Rich Text Editor) is not compatible with NP?

Are you referring to the beta version released by theBoxer? I don't know if that one is compatible or not. If I have time, I'll test it after it's no longer a beta version.

But I'm far more curious as to why my current setup with the manual (non-MODX) installation of Tiny works so well with NP 2.0.2 but not 2.1.

I'm afraid I don't know, sorry.

You can check GitHub to see the changes between the two versions and let me know if you see something that might have done it.
