    I would like to remove the container URL alias from the resource used to store individual articles when using the Article Plugin. So replace domain.com/blog/post to domain.com/post.

    I have been unable to find a fix, any ideas?

      Article was awesome, but kinda choked usability.
      Could CustomUrls override the url that Articles produces?

        Thanks for the CustomURL recommendation, I have now installed CustomURL but Article posts no-longer seem to use the alias field but seems to create URLs from pagetitle.

        My CustomURL settings

        Pattern: [[+alias]]
        Constraint field: parent
        Constraint: [parent ID]
        User group: Administrator
        URI: yes
        Override: yes
        Active: yes

          You can make a change to core/components/articles/model/articles/article.class.php

          …but bear in mind you will have to unpublish / re-publish all your posts for it to take effect - which can be a pain if you want to get the dates correct.

          Around line 290, change…

          $uri = rtrim($containerUri,'/') .'/'. rtrim($furlTemplate);

          to…

          $uri = rtrim($furlTemplate);

          Hope it works for you but obviously take precautions!
