I have a multitab MIGX CMP that pulls in grids from other MIGX Configs.
The issue is the interface. In my Specifications tab, the "Add Item" button is outside of the Action Buttons box (the box is still there next to it) and other Action buttons do not show up, but on my Images tab, the Add Item button is where it should be and the other buttons show up.
