In the course of investigating what I first thought was a browser inconsistency (
https://forums.modx.com/thread/96594/browser-inconsistencies#dis-post-522861)I have discovered that Firefox would allow me to view an unpublished document. Could this be a bug similar to the one mentioned here:
https://forums.modx.com/forums/thread/30062/able-to-view-a-not-published-resource#dis-post-163027?
An example of this can be found here:

Firefox (36.0.1) will display as in the attached image, Internet Explorer (11.0.17) and Chrome (Version 41.0.2272.89 m)revert to the Home page.

I am using 36.0.1 and get the homepage - not the screenshot
Just out of interest - are you viewing the page when logged in, as the page will be displayed to logged in users who know the URL
I had a similar instance with Evo - I thought the same (bug) until told otherwise.

As iusemodx suggests, if you are logged into the Manager in any window, or if a manager session cookie is still around, you have view_unpublished permission. The same is true if you have that permission as part of a Context Access ACL entry for the front-end context. The most reliable way to test is in an incognito or private window of the browser.

Yes you both have it! I woke up about three this morning with the same conclusion that of course Firefox would see the page as I was still logged in as manager. So the only bug in this issue is me.!
