Answered modx revo 2.3.1 package manager not installing add-ons freezing on console running... message

    i have a clean install of modx revo 2.3.1. in the package manager - downloading add-ons is fine. but when it comes to installing any addon, the console screen just freezes on message: console running...

    does anybody know how to fix this? i have other sites which have the same file/folder permissions which work ok so i know its not the issue with that?

      ok i think i have resolved this. i had to manually delete all files/folders in the core/cache folder. this seemed to resolve the issue
