I am using wayfinder and ultimate parent to generate menus in separate locations on my page. The display of the third level navigation is giving me trouble. If I am on a second level page, how do I display the third level of navigation only?

I believe that I am looking to display the child documents relative to my current level only.

I am assuming that you have two menus, 1 main menu and a second one with just the third level with a Wayfinder call for each menu. You can also accomplish this with the UltimateParent, set the &topLevel to the level you want to display.

Thank you, that helped. Of course this has now evolved into second question:

Is is possible to use the &excludeDocs, or something similiar, to exclude not only the specific document but also that documents children? This is going to be a content managed site and excluding specific documents will not work down the line as they have not been created yet.

There is a "show in menu" option for each document/page that will keep wayfinder from displaying the document and it’s children. Wayfinder also provides options to bypass this setting so you can have one menu use this while have another one ignore this.

Thank you for that response. I think I am actually getting close here.

Where I have gotten on this is to use Wayfinder in the first navigation area as:

            [!Wayfinder? &startId=`[[UltimateParent? &topLevel=`0`]]`&level=`1`!]

by using the &level I am able to limit this display correctly.

I have the second navigation area as:

            [!Wayfinder? &startId=`[[UltimateParent? &topLevel=`2`]]`!]

This is still a little problematic because the navigation displays appropriately on the first level and the third level, but not so much on the second level.

I believe I have addressed this by setting up [!FirstChildRedirect!]s to move my users past that second level. This has created another small issue with the randomDoc snippet, but I will start another post for that topic.

So, I believe that this is solved. Thank you, again, for your help.
