PLaceholders : is there a list anywhere

Hi guys

is there a list anywhere for core placeholders?

for example .. whats the place holder to return the name of a web user?

There aren’t any "core" placeholders. There are the various document variables such as [*pagetitle*], system variables such as [(site_name)]. To get the current logged-in user’s name you would need a snippet to get and return the value. The snippet can store the value in a placeholder instead of returning it directly. There are snippets available in the Repository that do this. But it is not a "core" feature.
