1. That code and the other code I posted above goes in the tiny.init function in the newspublisher.class.php file, but it's tricky if you're not good at both PHP and JavaScript, and nearly impossible if you don't have a good code editor like PhpStorm.
2. No. The code that gets removed is the rest of the inside of the tiny.init function. I just wrapped it like this so it wouldn't execute:
if (false) {
// dead code
}
You could just do the above with the whole TinyMCE init section in the NP class file and put this in the head section of the NP template:
