It seems quite complicated to me and I was wondering if anybody can list me a step-by-step complete dummy guide / or refer me to one on the net on how to successfully implement FURL on a APACHE Cloud Server.
I reall do not want to mess up it up... I will follow every step meticulously, but I have to be sure its a 99,99% success rate what I am following...
FTP:
rename the "ht.access" file in the root of the site (where you installed Evo) to ".htaccess"
Evo Manager:
"Tools => Configuration => Friendly URLs"
Change the setting: "Use FriendlyURLs" to "Yes" then save and view your homepage
In theory eveything should be working - you don't need to mess around with the content of the .htaccess file, unless you want to make any bespoke re-writes or re-direct "www" to non "www" domain or the other way around
If you are not sure about making the changes - BACKUP everything => DB + Server files, then make the changes
I've used Evo since late 2005 and have always used this method - to date, no problems.
UPDATE:
If you are using the latest version of Evo and you set FriendlyURLs to yes, the system should (if I remember rightly) change the ht.access file itself to .htaccess

If you have evo installed in a folder on your hosting below your main domain, you may have to edit the .htaccess file with the folder name like so:
orig: ~ line 12
RewriteBase /
edited to reflect that evo is installed in a folder named evolution1015:
