Can't Find DropDown List to Change Templates

Hi Guys,
I have inherited a web page running in Modx Revolution 2.2.6 and I'm just getting the hang of things.

I have created a new document because the Dashboard Page tells me the Unauthorized page is missing or not readable.
Sounds easy. The page I created defaulted to a one of the main page templates which is not appropriate. (and all over the place)

I read the help and it says this
"After you've created one or more Templates, you can edit any Resource and choose a Template for it by selecting one from the "Uses Template" drop-down list."

With my very plain "Unauthorised" page open I can't find the "Uses Template" drop-down list anywhere.

Can someone point it out to me please
Parent Resource is Blank
Resource Type is Document
Content Type is HTML
Content Description is Inline.

Click on the document tab (top left tab) assuming you're in the settings tab now based on the settings you posted. In the document tab, the uses template field is at top right (just to the right of the title field).

I checked my development site again and it isn't there. I didn't think I could have missed it so easily.
(can't attached a screen shot)

I checked my production web site and that drop down IS there.

I'm logging on as the same user on both sites and as the database was restored from production to development I assume I would have exactly the same permissions.

Is there any reason you could think of that this field could go missing from the manager screen?

Hi David,

When you moved the site to development, did you reinstall MODX? Try deleting the files in the core/cache folder first of course. The links below have info about reinstalling/updating, but any time you move a site best practice is to fetch a new copy of MODX-your-site's-version.zip and re-run setup same as if you're updating.

My first attempt to move the site using the original setup folder was a disaster. So I wiped it out and started again.
I downloaded a new zip matching the version modx version I'm using.
The install went well. I restored my database and copied any missing static files being carful not to replace anything that already existed on the new DEV site.

For some reason I can't do attachments in the forums. The message I type just disappears if I include an attachment.
I have tried both IE and Chrome and both have the same result.
There wasn't much to see. Just a missing drop down field.

Is there any way you can install this site at another location? I'm thinking to do a whole site move, with all the files that are on the production site (only the site files, not the server files like the cgi_bin), including the MODX files. Then, once the files and database are on the server, use a nice fresh MODX.zip file and run setup, clear the core/cache files. I get the feeling that with the picking through the files and leaving some files that existed...

it appears that something may have been missed or corrupted and it's hard to know what after the fact. I think the connectors folder that you left alone could be part of the problem, and that's why I would suggest that instead of installing MODX first and then piecing in the site files, move the site as is and then run setup on what you know works.

This missing template field is weird. At this point, the above is what I would do just to see if a different approach (which is the correct way to move a site, actually) works better.
