I use HootSuite to keyword watch a few technologies I'm into. I have a stream setup for all mentions of MODX. Keeps me in the loop(ish) as I don't visit the forums much lately.

Over the past 2 years I've noticed MODX being used a lot more on non CMS topics. I think it started with a Japanese pop singer and now some russian site. Can't remember the last time I saw a MODX mention that was about MODX the CMS smiley

What do you use to manage your keyword watches and is there a negative keyword tool built in ?

      Peter,

I've had to stop using all keywords on MODX generically and have stuck with the #MODX hashtag. It became too unwieldy to filter out all the spam, MODX containing accounts and non MODX tweets that contain MODX. The other problem is Twitter's search API has a limit of how long a search string can be and at some point it starts to fail. Here's how I monitor #MODX now. http://note.io/16REpB8

What the last straws were for me was there was recently a glut of Russian spammer accounts that had modx in filename of every URL to a spam link. Second was the recent discovery that ModX is a particularly common nickname in Asia.

So, for me, it's down to #MODX and #MODX alone.

        Jay,
I agree - the RU spammer accounts were the last straw. I could deal with the Japanese pop star to an extent smiley
Hashtag watch is much more sensible and working great.
