    Hi,

I am using Modx Revo 2.3.2-pl and Articles 1.7.10-pl.

When I am trying to get into the archives of articles I keep getting redirected to index (with the url like this: http://www.mysite.com/news/2015/01). When I turn off friendly URL it works perfectly though.
Since I don't know too much about htaccess I am not sure how to make it work.

I am using the htaccess that comes with distribution of modx, the only thing I customized is some lines for multicontext website.
Altough I tried to use the default htaccess too, to see if the problem wasn't in those lines. No luck though.

Someone any idea how to make this work ? Thanks in advance.

Is the alias populating automatically? Try setting automatic alias to on in system settings and then re-save some of the articles to set them for each.

If that doesn't work, hopefully someone else has an idea.

Hi, thanks for response. Yes the alias is setting automatically and the articles works by itself. The only thing I can't get to work are the pages for archives.

I mean, I can access http://www.mysite.com/news/2014/11/25/name-of-the-article.html without problem, but the container when clicking links for months in archive takes me to the index (http://www.mysite.com/news/2014/11/).

        Any idea ?

Is that the month page or the home page (error page default)? It appears that the link to the month is correct, at least in theory but perhaps the issue is that you don't have a resource set up to show a month's worth of articles? TBH I'm not even sure how this would be done. How are you producing the link to the month? (what code?)

Anything special in the template or are you using the default examples?

I am trying to access the month page, but the links in archive take me to the index, altough the url says (http://www.mysite.com/news/2014/11/). I am using default templates.

Now I am little bit lost, what do you mean by resource to show a month's worth of articles ? smiley I have just container for articles (called News), and in this container there are individual news articles. Didn't created the resource for month archives or anything else. The thing is that when I turn off the fURL the archive page (news in certain month) is actually working. I think there has to be some problem with fURL or my htaccess, altough I am using the normal htaccess, the only thing is that I have special are two contexts on my site with use of Babel for multilang.

I may be wrong, but a link to "somewhere" that lists a month's worth of articles surely has to be a resource of some sort, with a template and some markup that would display such a list. You've got your container, with all the articles set with template and markup, MODX tags, etc. It shows articles. But if you don't have a resource with a template that does the job of showing just a month and the articles within that month, say with a getResources call... there's nowhere for that link to go.

The standard for MODX error page (page not found, 404) is the home page unless otherwise set in system settings to another ID. So it's just telling you that the page doesn't exist.

Make the page exist, set a template and a getResources call that will show the month called up in the link and you should be good.

What worries me is that the month is a link at all. It's been a while since I used Articles actively, even more that I paid much attention to the sample templates having a preference for Collections for blogs now but that doesn't seem exactly right to link to the month without having somewhere for it to actually land.

Hmmm... I just went to a site and changed the template to the articles sample template, but nothing changed. That's odd...

But having looked at the sample container template, there is no link to a "month".

Can you post the code from the template that is doing this?

Thanks for trying smiley... Well in sample.ArticlesContainerTemplate there is placeholder [[+archives]] which outputs the
list for months or years (that depends on what you set up in articles options - under Archives opt.).

So the output i get on my site is smthing like this

                  January 2015 (1)
                  November 2014 (3)
                  ...

"But if you don't have a resource with a template that does the job of showing just a month and the articles within that month, say with a getResources call... there's nowhere for that link to go." - When I turn off the fURL for my site, it works, I mean I get on the page for a certain month which contains only articles within that month. Can't get to that page with fURL turned on. If there wouldnt be a resource (or anything created for it, it wouldnt work with fURL turned off right ?)

I am quite amateur in these things, so bear with me please smiley
