Answered Prevent access during update/setup

    I want to update my site from 2.2 to 2.3. During this process I don't want any vistors. What is the best practice to prevent users from logging in and accessing the site?
    Is there a setting to prevent access? Or do I have to alter .htaccess or index.php or an other file?

      You can set 'Site Status' in System Settings>>>Site to 'No'. Visitors will then get a 'Site unavailable' message.
