Answered moved to a new server, snippets cause 500 internal server error

hi guys.

i have recently moved a modx revo 2.0.0 site to a new server. configs are all fine. manager is working fine too but in the front end, pages with snippets will show blank page.

these are some information that i have but i'm not sure if they are related.
1. cache error log shows

[2015-02-03 13:24:49] (ERROR @ /var/www/html/core/model/modx/modlexicon.class.php : 117) PHP warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach()

i have used a stackoverflow fix, the error goes away http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3446538/cleanest-way-to-skip-a-foreach-if-array-is-empty
but this didn't fix the problem.

2. cache folder is only writable if it's 777. if it's 755, manager will show blank page.

could it be the file writing permissions that causes the snippets fail therefore crashes a pages that uses them?

hope to find a solution for this

first of all, 2.0.0 is soooo old, would you mind upgrading? maybe the problem will go away.
"500" server erro should also add some detailed info in PHP (not MODX) error log, try to check it out.
