Revo 2.3.2
NewsPublisher 2.0.2
On the local dev server Tiny renders as expected for both Admin and Member user-groups. However, on the remote staging server Tiny is rendering as a plain-Jane textarea field (no controls etc.) for both groups, though the content can still be edited and saved to the front-end.
The only thing I can think of is that because the remote staging site is in a sub-folder (not a sub- or add-domain) perhaps the paths Tiny uses are incorrect. Is this possible? Everything else on the site seems fine.

Check the path in the tinymce namespace (Gear Icon -> namespaces). Also, check the error log.
It's a temptation to uninstall and re-install TinyMce, but I've had it mess itself up badly on uninstall, so it's usually better to try to find the bad path and fix it.
There might also be a tinymce path in the extension_packages System Setting or in the modx_extension_packages table in the DB.
Perhaps this is the problem?
Unlike the local install where all the MODX app files are in the site root, the (remote) staging install is hardened with the (renamed) core folder above the site root. The other system folders have also been renamed. Although the site works fine maybe Tiny is getting confused.

Check the settings I mentioned. They would not be affected by running Setup and the TinyMCE install may hard-code the paths, so they're very likely wrong.

@BobRay The settings you mentioned seem correct as far as I can tell. I even tried uninstalling/reinstalling Tiny (I know).
Some progress: It seems the problem has something to do with the site using SSL and absolute paths.
I'm using the Cloudflare (Flexible) SSL feature for https and in MODX the link_tag_scheme was set to https. Except for TinyMCE (as part of NewsPublisher) rendering as a plain textarea (no toolbar) the rest of the site was functioning fine. However I did notice that all the paths relating to NP and Tiny files were not absolute which can’t be good.
Once I disabled SSL on Cloudflare and changed the MODX link_tag_scheme back to http Tiny worked as expected so clearly something about SSL and/or absolute paths are causing it to fall over.
Can someone help sort this out? Not using SSL really isn't an option at this point.
