    hello,

i’ve been using modx now for about 1 year and a half, and i’ve never noticed this before.

When I make a change to the menu index to a page it normally alters the right hand list to show the order of the pages with respect to their Menu Index - but on a site I am building now, it is listing pages with respect to their id rather than their menu index. - anyone else encountered this? I am running 0.9.6.1p2 huh

    cheers
    graham

What database version are you using? There are some significant bugs in certain recent releases of MySQL that cause this.

5.0.50 and 5.0.51 releases to be precise; possibly others around the same time.

          I am running

          MySQL client version: 5.0.45

          - would the bugs be in that version?

The MySQL client version is not important; what is important is the MySQL server version that is running. This may differ (though it shouldn’t really for optimal performance and compatibility).

ah ok - well server is

Server version: 5.0.51b MySQL Community Server (GPL)

so it’s a version with the bug. - how can i get this fixed as it’s quite important?

              cheers

For now the only solid solution we recommend is upgrading MySQL to 5.0.54 or downgrading to 5.0.45.

doesn’t seem to be a 5.0.54 for the Community server (I am running it on os x 10.5) - so I guess I’ll have to downgrade...
