Forgive me if this has been touched on before. Please just point me in the right direction.
I need to build a carousel/rotating slideshow of musicians for a record company homepage.
Not just images though, there is Name and Introductory Text placed on top of the image in a div.
I have a row of 4 of these divs and I need them to fade through to another set of 4 every 10 seconds for example.
(This is my first CMS/MODx site, so forgive blatant ignorance)
My initial thought was to use a Ditto call to generate a ul populated with all the necessary data (link to image, text, external link) and then feed that to MaxiGallery to make the slideshow/fading action from the ul. Is that possible? Can I feed a Ditto call into another snippet on the same page?
Or is there just a completely different and much better way of doing this.
The reason for the ditto call initially was because I want it to be a dynamically generated list and i want to be able to randomize the selection every time.
