I'm looking for some advice for a newsletter solution for MODx Evolution.
The recipients are members of an association and are already managed with the snippet WebloginPE.
Here the requirements:
- Must work with MODx Evolution.
- Email addresses are already stored in an existing table of MODx and the list may vary in time.
- Users can already login to the website through WebloginPE (and this login sytem should be used to possibly access archived newsletters).
- Members of the comitee should be able to send newsletters to all members.
- The newsletter system must be fully hosted on the website.
- As there are about 100 members, the possibility to send the newsletter in by packets of recipients could possibly be useful.
- No need for statistics (like conversion report, a.s.o) as this is not for commercial purpose.
- Paying a lifetime license would not be a problem as long, as the system is not based on a remote service.
- Not too long to configure (very important!) because of the customer's limited budget. This mean that if lot of hacking is required to interface it with the existing database, I would prefer a simple even if not perfect solution to send emails.
Not required, but a plus:
- Possibility to add attachments
- HTML formatting of emails with a Wysiwig plugin like TinyMCE
- Templating of emails (so that the look of the newsletter can be "recycled")
- Possibily to access archived newsletters via MODx documents via WebloginPE
- Possibility for users to suscribe to newletters by groups of interest
