Package installer not showing any packages

Hi,
I downloaded the latest 2.3.2 modx revolution and installed it. When I click on Download extras it doesn't show anything, just stays forever on "loading...". I'm using Xampp on Windows 7. Accessing "http://rest.modx.com/extras" directly in the browser shows {"status":404,"message":"Resource not found"}, not sure if that's how it's supposed to be.

You probably need to turn off your firewall and/or antivirus.

The windows firewall is disabled, I'm using Comodo. Disabling Comodo doesn't make a difference. And I don't have an antivirus program. Some more details: PHP 5.5.19, curl enabled (I read that may be a problem).

Did you disable UAC when you installed XAMPP? [ed. note: willyps last edited this post 11 years, 8 months ago.]

UAC is also disabled globally. :/

I had so many different problems with XAMPP on W7 I don't know which change fixed the package download problem, as I was not testing for that with each change. I eventually gave up on the other problems (not related to MODX) and installed a lamp server on a linux machine.

I'm not sure where's the problem. I tried newer xampp - same, xampp with installer for modx - same, wamp - same. Sadly I don't have a Linux machine, but may try on Windows server.

Installed xampp on Windows server 2012 and it worked... I can't find anything wrong with my installation. So it's not xampp, it's not my internet. What else can I check?

I got it working when I installed older Xampp - VC9 and PHP 5.4. On the newer VC11 PHP 5.5 and 5.6 versions the Apache server crashed sometimes, although I did try to run a few PHP frameworks there and they worked without a problem.

Interesting to know that... and glad to hear you got it worked out.
