Pinegrow Editor website to integrate into MODX CMS / Turn Pinegrow site into MODX project

Hi guys,

I tested MODX CMS over the past few days and I am very very very impressed.

My question is whether or not it is possible to turn a Pinegrow Web Editor website (HTML, Bootstrap), into the MODX CMS?
So to make my website a dynamic fully functioning MODX project.

If yes, what will have to be done to make it work? I would appreciate the relevant amount of detail in the necessary steps for the proper conversion.
I want to do it myself and I hope to learn as a I go along.

MODX advertised the following which got me even more excited: "The World’s Easiest Theming - Front-end Developers find it refreshing to be able to take any HTML website, and turn it into a MODX-powered project in just a few hours. You’re never restricted from changing to or using any markup framework or JS library, or anything else for that matter."

What does your site consist of... a few static pages? Blog? Forum? Any of these should be fairly easy to convert to MODX.

I recommend you start with this tutorial: MODx Revolution for Complete Beginners Part 1 – Introduction | The Coding Pad

Start learning on a local dev environment, (ie, an XAMPP setup on your own machine)and once you get the hang of it then start converting your own site, still on local, and when you are satisfied with the result, replace your live site.

It might sound like black magic at first, but once everything clicks in place for you, you'll wonder why it ever seemed at all difficult.

To specifically answer your question, you can use any editing system you like. Perhaps in your case you will find static templates interesting. Normally almost everything you do in MODX is stored in the database, but you can also use static files. This means you can work exclusively in MODX, or you can work with files using any IDE and FTP/SFTP/SSH to connect to your server. [ed. note: sottwell last edited this post 11 years, 9 months ago.]

I will start to get really into MODX then and I feel excited about it.
