Cannot edit resources or elements with new install

Good day. I have a brand new install of 2.3.2 and I am getting a blank editor when I try to edit or create a new document. I can right-click duplicate the document, as well, the quick-editor works, but when I edit the document, I consistently get this blank editor. Screenshot below.

Any insight into this issue would be much appreciated.

Did you move the MODX files individually with FTP? That often results in a missing or corrupted file.

No. I pushed a zip package via SCP, then unpacked it on the server.

Try turning off the compress_js and compress_css System Settings, deleting all files in the core/cache directory, and clearing your browser cache and cookies.

Thanks for the pointer. That worked. Must be the compress settings that are messing with the admin. It consistently works/breaks if I have these settings off/on
